Fact Check Explorer: find prior investigations of a claim

Fact Check Explorer helps locate published fact checks, and Google's training explains ways to search for topics, people and publishers. It is useful before repeating an investigation that another organization has already documented, particularly when a familiar image or claim returns with a new caption. Write down the precise claim first, including the alleged place, date or action. Search using a few distinctive terms and inspect the full articles behind relevant results. Compare the original claim with the version you are investigating: a fact check about one photograph or date may not answer a superficially similar claim. Save the evidence links and reasoning, not only the rating label. The tool indexes eligible published material rather than deciding every claim itself. No result does not establish truth, and an old investigation can become incomplete when new evidence appears. Evaluate the publisher's methods and follow its sources. Your research note should explain what was checked, what evidence supports the conclusion and what remains outside the investigation's scope.
