Browsertrix: collect a defined web collection

Browsertrix is a Webrecorder project for automated web archiving. Its documentation covers crawling, importing and exporting archives, publishing collections, and running the system on your own infrastructure. It is useful when a research question requires a repeatable collection of pages rather than a handful of screenshots. Begin with a small pilot. Define the seed URLs, permitted scope, desired frequency and a practical stopping condition. Run a capture, inspect the important pages in replay, and record what failed before expanding the crawl. Keep the collection description alongside the exported archive so another researcher knows why these pages were selected and which parts were excluded. Automation does not remove selection bias or quality control. Authentication, dynamic interfaces and external services can leave gaps. Hosted and self-managed deployments have different operational requirements, so read the relevant setup documentation before choosing one. A useful archive is a tested, explained collection, not simply a large download.
